BIOGRAPHY—Judy Matheson got her start with the Bristol Old Vic Theatre Company and her first (small) screen appearance was in 1968. She dies in two Hammer films; in Lust for a Vampire, she’s the student at an all-girl school who deduces that Yutte Stensgaard is more than just a classmate. Stensgaard’s Mircalla-Carmilla then seduces and kills her in the accepted cinematic lesbian vampire fashion. She doesn’t fare any better in Twins of Evil, where she plays an innocent woodsman’s daughter burned at the stake by the Witch-Happy Joes of Puritan Company. Her last appearance was in a TV episode of Blake’s 7, and the following year she became the continuity announcer for ITV.

Other genre credits: FILMS: Crucible of Terror, Glendale, 1971 (Marcia); The Flesh and Blood Show, Peter Walker (Heritage), 1972 (Jane); The House That Vanished, Blackwater Film Productions Limited, 1974 (Lorna Collins) TELEVISION: Dead of Night: “Two in the Morning,” 1972 (Tessa); Blake’s 7: “Volcano,” 1980 (Mutoid)
